Description

This resource combines three texts on the same topic, police violence in the United States, and is used to help guide students toward writing a research writing task comparing at least two texts.

The texts are multimodal: a video, a poem, and an informational article, and are engaging for students to read together. Included is a mnemonic strategy for helping students to master the PARCC-style research writing task, using resources from (https://theliteracycookbook.wordpress.com/2014/10/30/parcc-preparation-tackling-the-research-writing-task/).
