What educators are saying

It was perfect! Exactly what I needed to progress monitor one of my students and to give additional practice!
My resource room students use these to do progress monitoring. It makes it very easy to see their progress as well as providing a structure for them to work with in making their letters and numbers.

Description

Make occupational therapy goal tracking, progress monitoring, data collection, screenings, and assessments easier with this set of handwriting assessment pages for uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and sentences. These ABC, number, and sentence handwriting assessment pages can be used for classroom writing samples, special education lessons, and occupational therapy handwriting activities.

They can be helpful when setting and checking progress on handwriting goals. Included in this resource are letter and sentence writing assessment templates, as well as, sample IEP handwriting goals. Use these worksheets to assess a student's memory for upper and lower case letter formation. You can also keep track of their legibility, size, orientation, baseline adherence, and spacing when writing letters, words, and sentences.

OT Tip: Focus on all the performance components that go into handwriting throughout your daily work with students. Remember that a multi-sensory approach is helpful for all students. Students need to be able to produce basic strokes ( -, |, /, \, +, and X) before letter formation. Use these assessments once a month to check/monitor progress. By checking monthly you will have the samples needed for trimester or quarterly marking periods.

Several varieties of letter/line sizes and models are included. Each assessment page has a scoring key at the bottom for teacher/therapist use. ABC assessment pages come with lines and no lines. Tracing pages for practice are also included. I work with many students who benefit from a highlighted baseline, if this is not needed for your population simply copy in back and white.
