First Grade

L.1.1.c – Use singular and plural nouns with matching verbs in basic sentences.

Second Grade

L.2.1.a – Use collective nouns.

L.2.1.b – Form and use frequently occurring irregular plural nouns.

Students will complete any of the following activities:

1. Color it – Students color words based on the noun.

2. Find it – Students go on a word hunt (using classroom books) to find nouns. Students write the words in the frames.

3. Read it, Circle it – Students read a poem and circle various nouns.

4. Roll it, Write it, Draw it – Students roll a noun and complete various activities using the noun.

5. Sort it – Students cut and sort various nouns.

6. Spin it – Students spin a noun and use the noun in a sentence.

7. Define it – Students determine the meaning of a given collective noun.
