Description

This engaging middle or high school cardboard sculpture unit only requires a couple of simple materials at a very low cost!

Students learn about various famous artists and then choose one of their works to recreate as a cardboard relief sculpture. Students practice their observational drawings skills and learn about foreground, middle ground, and background as well as multiple techniques to create texture and depth using cardboard.

The project takes about 2-3 weeks to complete depending on the length of the classes. This bundle includes:

- detailed unit plan including the national standards for visual arts

- Foreground, middle ground, and background practice using magazine images

- Relief sculpture sketch sheet

- Images for cardboard relief practice

- Cardboard texture practice assignment
