What educators are saying

I loved this unit on mental health awareness. We spent many classes using it and the students asked great questions.
I love this lesson. It’s really large so I actually used it for multiple glass periods. Led to great discussion and the students really were engaged.

Description

What is mental health? May is Mental Health Awareness month! This is an editable no prep 80+ page powerpoint on mental health/ talking about mental health/ stigma/ how to talk about mental health disorders, conditions & symptoms, including 80 google slides reviewing mental health, a custom video I created with follow-up questions, new vocab review, with 3 differentiated levels of all included activities! Each slide of the lesson uses large font and has a visual.

Included are 3 differentiated quizzes for students. You can present the lesson remotely or in person, and then test students' knowledge at the end!

Use the lesson and activities with any student who is at a the 2-7 grade level - the video, graphics and activities remain age appropriate for any student, as I created this originally for my own 18-22 year old classroom.

Included is a recommended UNIT SEQUENCE so you can teach this lesson across 5 separate blocks!

Check out the free sample lesson on stigma for a glimpse of the lesson!

Each Google Slide uses large font and has a visual. I created the embedded youtube video and plan to create follow-up videos in the future on specific mental health conditions, stigma, and more.

Please note this slideshow does not use the term mental illness, as I aim to respect the wishes of the neurodivergent community :) I use the terms mental health or mental health conditions. I also aim to decrease stigma surrounding talking about mental health with this lesson - I hope it stirs great conversations in your classrooms!
