March Music Madness | Meter Music Game Relay Race | Time Signature Activity

Are you looking for a fun and engaging way to review meter and time signature with your elementary music students? This March Madness Music Meter Relay Race Game is a great way for students to practice rhythm reading and meter identification in a fun and competitive way!

Just in time for the big game...Meter Madness! Students are divided into 2-4 teams (depending on class size). The teacher uses the Rhythm List to call out a certain rhythm. One person from each time races to find that rhythm or meter in the stack of cards in the middle. The first team back receives a point. The team with the most points at the end of the game is the winner!

Not studying meter? No problem! Instead of calling out the time signature, simply call out the rhythm and have the students find it!

This game is perfect to leave for a sub. My class loves to play it outside on the basketball court!
