What educators are saying

This resource was very helpful! Lucy can be overwhelming, but this outline broke down the units very well. I referred to it quite often.

Description

This is a word document of all 19 Sessions in the Unit 1 “Launching the Writing Workshop” manual for Lucy Calkins kindergarten writing (published in 2013). Please be sure you have the manual to refer to when using these outlines. The body of the text is fully editable. The footer is the only part protected.

Each outline includes a brief synopsis of the:

connection

teaching point

teach portion

active engagement

link

mid-workshop teaching point

share

Each outline is a maximum of one page, so they are quick to read when lesson planning and easy to skim just before teaching. Specific pages in the Launching the Writing Workshop manual are referenced when visuals were provided that I found useful.

These are my own personal outlines that I made for my own personal use. You may find small imperfections in my syntax or silly spelling errors. I am selling this as a word document so that you can alter and edit the outlines to fit your needs, teaching style, and interpretation of the Lucy Calkins writing curriculum.
