Description

This literature resource for Love That Dog by Sharon Creech is a low prep novel study and includes both reading comprehension activities as well as creative poetry writing activities related to the figures of speech used in the story. The other great feature of this book is the famous poems that are integrated throughout the story.

This is the perfect supplement to a poetry unit of study and really gets kids motivated to write poems and use figures of speech-- just like Jack (the main character in the story). Students tap into many inference skills to understand the events that are happening off the pages of the book.
