Description
PLEASE READ: This bundle includes secure PDF documents. If you purchased my Poetry Unit, Love That Dog novel unit, Hate That Cat novel unit, or Emily story activities (see links above), this bundle contains the same products.
Students identify figures of speech, read poetry examples that contain the figures of speech, and write poems that demonstrate figures of speech.
After looking for figurative language examples in poems, students identify signature styles of famous poets through individual poems and the novels, Love That Dog and Hate That Cat.
The culminating activity is a Poetry Project to showcase the students' poems. In addition, students provide explanations of the figures of speech used in each poem (analysis).
