Description

This is a fun group assignment for any middle school to high school age class. It encourages students to understand literary elements in a unique and creative way by creating a poem or "rap" on any subject they wish. Not only do they define the terms, but they must apply them and use examples. The finished products are AMAZING!!!!! They turn in a hard copy of their "poem" or "rap" but also turn it into a video or media presentation.

I have included a step by step process, a rubric, a list of suggested groups of lit elements (but feel free to apply any lit terms you want), and a sample poem that I wrote as an example.

Kids have so much fun with this, and I love seeing what they come up with!
