Life through US History: End of the Year Project

Great way to wrap up the year. Students create a fictional person who lives from 1920-2017 and document their life through historical events! The student’s love creating a digital diary and historical timeline. The directions outline the 13 topics that are generally studied in a second semester US history class. Students select two specific events from those 13 topics, for a total of 26 historical events. I am always amazed at how creative students are when they weave their fictional person’s story through these events. Students create a digital diary through google slides or ppt and a digital timeline through google doc/word. A rubric and two student examples are included! Students can present these or go through peer review in small groups.
