Legends in Dance - Gower Champion NEW!

This worksheet packet specifically explores the life of legendary director/choreographer Gower Champion. He is less well known than the other directors/choreographers of the American musical theater universe, Jerome Robbins, Bob Fosse, or Michael Bennett. His contributions to the golden era of Broadway are immeasurable with his productions of Bye Bye Birdie, Hello Dolly! and 42nd Street being icons of the stage.

This is part of a series of worksheet packets I created for dance history and musical theater classes. I have dozens of figures from jazz, tap, ballet, modern, and musical theater. I developed these packets as a teaching tool for my students as no high school dance history textbook was acceptable for our program. These are written at the high school level, appropriate for most students in reading and comprehension. They are perfect for the Common Core Close Reading requirements.
