These lesson plans are meant to serve as a general road map for your elementary music lesson planning. They give guidelines for when to teach each grade certain musical concepts along with game and activity ideas. You can use these plans in conjunction with your own music lessons or stand alone. Most songs listed in the music lessons are from the Share the Music textbook series, Music K-8, or pop culture. If you don't have access to any of these resources, many of the songs are accessible through Amazon and iTunes. When possible, I have included links to free recordings of the songs on YouTube.

I encourage you to check with your school or local library to see if they have any of these books. You may also want to consider asking classroom teachers in your building to see if they have any of them. You can also skip these parts of the lessons (you will still have approximately 50 kindergarten lessons!). In addition to these three books, you will also need access to stuffed animals and a large blow up dice or beach ball (or any object that can be thrown and written on with a sharpie).
