**This project can be used for the following areas: study of psychology, social-emotional learning (self-awareness, empathy), get-to-know-you project
This Inside Out - inspired project will be an exciting resource for students to explore elements of their personalities and understand why they are the way they are. My lesson overview explains how personality psychologists believe our personalities are formed and provides example questions that will help students consider what forms and shapes their own personalities.
In this project, students will create at least 4 "islands of personality" that best represent who they are. In the brainstorming sheet, they must consider how that "island" initially formed and analyze how it grows in their personality. They will sketch and name each island, and once their brainstorming is complete, they will select a product to create and present their personal "islands of personality". These presentations can lead to several discussions about self-awareness and empathy towards others who are different than us. Purchase this project and be amazed at how your students present their personalities in unique ways!
