How to Teach Thesis Writing: Webquest and Practice

This PDF contains a webquest designed to introduce students to the components of a thesis and the steps to writing an effective thesis. The webquest requires students to watch three videos (all about 5 minutes each). Students respond to questions regarding the videos. Then, the students are responsible for creating a graphic organizer for creating a thesis statement.

In addition to the webquest, I've included a practice thesis worksheet which require the students to write thesis statements regarding sample teenage relevant topics such as (Candy, Movies, Video Games, and Text Messaging). The worksheet is designed to provide practice while also appealing to students' interests.

All materials include answer keys and sample answers.
