Description
The 2016 film, Hidden Figures, follows the story of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson. Their work at NASA not only paved the way for African American women, but all women, when it came to work in mathematics, engineering, and the space program. The film stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle MonĂ¡e, Mahershala Ali, Kevin Costner, and Jim Parsons.
My movie guide contains 45 questions and an answer key has been provided for your convenience. The film is 127 minutes in length and is rated PG for thematic elements and some language.
This film would be a great addition for Black History Month, Women's History Month, Math, U.S. History, or Science course. You could easily use this for last minute sub plans or an End of the Year film. This would also be a great lesson to use for International Women's Day (March 8th).
