Description

Includes:
40 Root Cards
“Petal Cards” with examples of the roots being used & the meaning of the root
Answer Key

Preparation:
Print each “root card” on its own paper/cardstock. Print out “petal cards” and cut on the dotted lines. Included is a blank sheet of petals for you or your students to add words you find that have the roots.

Game Play:
Students can play in groups of 2-5
Each student will pick a “root card” and place it in front of them. All “petal cards” are face-down in the middle (to shorten the game, you can pick out the petal cards that match the root cards the students have in front of them so they don’t have all 126 cards to go through). Each student takes a turn choosing a “petal card” If it uses the root on their root card, or is the meaning of the root, they may place it on their card to build a flower. If it does not match, it goes at the bottom of the deck. Continue going through the deck until the game ends. The game ends when a student has a full flower.
