Description

There are three options with this unit depending upon the grade you teach and the level of ability of your students. Each option may be modified to meet your needs. My 5th grade students love doing this project and has been a favorite for the past 25 years. The purpose of this project is to research either the state that you live in to learn more about it, research the various regions and states of the contiguous United States, or to research various places around the world. The students will be reading nonfiction and practice their note taking skills and letter writing. If you choose to do the daily planner as part of the project , then the students will be filling in the daily planner using math and measurement skills. All students will make a post card booklet decorating the front of the post cards to represent the places visited. On the back of the post card, the student write a letter to a friend which will incorporate the 5 facts about the place that they visited. All the information is included in this packet including a rubric and self-evaluation for each project.
If you have any questions or need any modifications made, please email me prior to purchase. Thank you.
