1. Reading Practice:
Monsieur Négatif always responds in the negative with a pessimistic attitude in this French reading. But, one day, he meets an optimistic girl. As they talk, will she have a positive influence on M. Négatif, or will he have a negative impact on her?
In this 2-page story all in French, intermediate students will identify negative expressions, dig deeper with comprehension questions, and start to evaluate the power of influence in one's life. Complete with lesson ideas, answer keys, and options for Google Slides™ and TpT Easel, la négation just got easier for you and more engaging for your students!

Who is this best for?
We use this with our Level 3 students and beyond. Level 2 students can manage, but it is more difficult for them.
The majority of the story is in the present tense, but there are some passé composé et imparfait where appropriate.
2. Google Form™ (or TpT Easel)
30 questions, 5 sections. All in French, self-checking
The 5 sections of questions include:
-1. Read a sentence, choose grammatically correct sentence with negative
-2. Read a question, choose logical answer
-3. Read a question, choose grammatically correct answer
-4. Read a sentence, write it with given negative
-5. Read a mini passage, answer 3 questions
Students will see present tense, 2 verb sentences (aller, devoir, vouloir) and le passé composé avec avoir.
*However, students will see « je suis arrivé” and some imparfait conjugations in the mini passage.
Remember, to use this Google Form™, you and your students need to have Google™ accounts.
