Mississippi Burning is one of the best films on racial tensions in the south.

Mississippi Burning is one of several films that I would recommend for high school students and university students alike. I have taught it many times.

It is loosely based on the FBI investigation into the real-life murders of three civil rights workers in the U.S. state of Mississippi in 1964.

The film is violent and obviously racially charged.
