Eyewitness Identification Procedures-Forensic Science, Criminal Justice Activity
Description
This worksheet has students examine the FBI's guidelines for administering a photo array to an eyewitness. The guidelines can be found in PDF form on the internet and a link has been provided in the document.
This activity has different sets of "photos" for students to analyze using the guidelines. It also has a question set and a case study.
This would make a great sub plan for a forensic science or criminal justice class.
A variety of skin tones are used in the pictures. So while this activity is essentially "print and go" you will want to check that the facial features can still be seen on some of the darker images when you make copies. In addition to this handout, students will need a copy of the FBI guidelines (either printed or digital access)
Updated to include what sections of the document each answer can be found in. This speeds things up if you don't have a lot of time for students to complete the activity or if you need to differentiate it for different skill levels.
