Description
Cleft palate and/or velopharyngeal Insufficiency (VPI) is not every SLP's area of expertise. This helpful evaluation tool makes it easy!
Assesses ORAL STRUCTURE, NASAL AIR EMISSION, RESONANCE (HYPERNASALITY & HYPONASALITY), PHONATION, and helpful tips on how to look for COMPENSATORY ERRORS.
Each subtest quickly explains what is being assessed to better help the SLP understand and execute the test. A small glossary of terms is included as a course refresher. This resource will also help in the writing up of the evaluation and IEP. Scores are reported as percentages.
This assessment was based on the principles taught by Kenneth Bzoch PhD in his Communicative Disorders Clinical Tests. The textbook "Communicative Disorders Related to Cleft Lip and Palate - Fourth Edition" and "Therapy Techniques for Cleft Palate Speech and Related Disorders" by Karen J Golding-Kushner were utilized in forming this assessment.
