What educators are saying
My students loved this! A great way for them to learn how to budget before they enter the real world! And getting to play a board game is an added plus!
Description
This project was created for my high school students in my resource room. My former students explained that they felt unprepared for life out in the "real world" because no one really told them what it would be like to be out on their own, and because of that they struggled a lot at first. So I created this project for my future junior and senior students to help them really get a grasp of what it might be like after graduation. Especially those whose parents will not help finance their futures, but this project can easily be adapted for younger crowds. The file includes the Learning Focused School (LFS) Unit Lesson Plan of 38 pages, which includes a breakdown of the project, each individual lesson, all the worksheets, and the project packet for students, rubrics for grading, a grade tracker for students, and activating and culminating activities. It really is an all inclusive complete unit meant to be completed over a long period of time. I have used it over the course of a semester for my students with each section due intermittently and then the overall project. So far all of my students have really enjoyed this project and I have even had students who were not mine ask if they could participate as well. I hope all of your students enjoy it and learn as much as mine have.
