Easy Chemistry - atoms, elements, and molecules

This is a beginners unit that introduces elementary students to chemistry basics. It covers atoms, elements, molecules, the periodic table, and Mendeleev. This unit uses backwards learning in that the students do the fun activities and then use critical thinking skills to relate their learning back to chemistry fundamentals. I used this unit with my fourth and fifth grade Gifted and Talented students and they loved it. Their learning was much deeper due to the activities which include blocks, art, graphs, reader's theatre, and puzzles. There are 7 lessons, 24 molecule cards, 4 Vocabulary Cards, 6 worksheets to go along with the lessons, 2 Posters (letter size), and video suggestions for supplementary learning .
