Easter Creative Writing Prompts: IB DP English B HL Paper 1 Preparation

You want to celebrate Easter with your students, and help them further develop their writing skills. But you can't find any Easter activities that are relevant for English B. That's where this resource comes in: an engaging Easter resource with zero calories!

How it works:

Students choose one of the Easter-themed prompts, which include extracts from articles and opinion columns, and a photo.

They choose to write any sort of Easter-themed text type, a short story or even a poem. Here there is more flexibility with the choice of text type, as conceptual understand is not being assessed. The purpose of this task is for your students to engage in a creative writing activity.

Students then complete a table which helps them to organise their ideas in terms of language and message.

After writing their text, rubrics for Language (Criterion A) and Message (Criterion B) are included. Therefore this resource could be formative or summative, a self-evaluation, or even a peer-evaluation.
