What educators are saying

These sheets were amazing. They were perfect to leave for students in their independent work drawers. It helped me see if they were able to apply what we were working on in small group.
My students found this activity fun. I even had them color all the eggs by code. Each vowel sound was assigned a different color. They really enjoyed it.

Description

Do your students need practice writing CVC words after segmenting each word (isolating each sound)? This SPRING EGG CVC WORD resource for EASTER or FARM is a NO PREP engaging activity for students to complete independently, in a small group or as a whole class activity.

EASTER EGGS DIGRAPHS WRITE THE WORD

This seven page pack has 9 egg graphics on each page. This is great for spring, Easter, or farm themes. There is a picture of a CVC word on each egg. There are 3 boxes (one box for each letter of the word) under each picture for students to write each word in after sounding out and stretching each word.

There is one page for each vowel (a, e, i, o, and u) and two pages with a combination of these five vowels. There are seven pages in all.

The PREVIEW shows all pages included in the resource.

There is a "Name that Picture" page that tells the word for each picture in case there is a question about the picture name. Keep the page handy when using all seven pages.

Here are the words that are included on each page:

1: cap, yam, fat, dad, mat, wag, sad, rat, pad

2: leg, men, wet, jet, ten, net, hen, pet, red

3: hit, wig, kit, bib, six, pin, zip, lid, dig

4: pot, box, log, pop, cot, cop, jog, top, fox

5: bus, cup, hut, sun, rug, bun, cut, gum, bud

6: sub, hot, fin, bed, jam, big, mop, vet, cab

7: mad, dip, fog, tub, pen, map, rib, nut, beg

If students finish early, have them flip to the back of their paper and write a sentence with each word on the front. Students can also color the pictures after completing the page.

This makes a great morning work activity, homework, literacy center, or review for CVC words. Students love using their mini slinkies to stretch out the words.
