What educators are saying

Thank you! This is an outstanding resource to add to my Personal Finance curriculum. It is also very well organized and easy to implement. I tweaked it to make it my own, but it was very helpful.
This is great as it is a new course and gave me some starting place. Its great if students are absent as there are embedded links to flipped classroom videos so students can keep current. It would be great for a new teacher the only thing that isn't included is a final exam!

EPF LESSON PLANS AND PACING GUIDE FOR ENTIRE SEMESTER!

    Description

Based directly on the new North Carolina Economic and Personal Finance (EPF) curriculum, this Bundle has absolutely EVERYTHING you need to teach Economics and Personal Finance in a single semester with NO BOOK NEEDED, Just Add Teacher.

NOTE: This is NOT a pay-as-you go or a “I’ll update later” curriculum. It is 100% complete and ready to be used and owned by you permanently. Described below is a detailed breakdown of everything you will receive in this bundle.

Click HERE to follow Just Add Teacher for more resources and updates!

This EPF is perfect for both in-person and distance learning (or for students who have absences pile up) as it includes a plethora of extras that are found in no other bundle, and can be easily manipulated for a variety of formats. I do not use the PDF format for my resources so that you will have the ability to edit them easily if necessary. All resources are in Word or PowerPoint format but can be drag-and-dropped into Google Drive and will transition seamlessly as I use both when creating these resources.

Here is how the 8 EPF Units break down.. and what you will receive.

    Unit 1 –  Economic Basics

Unit 2 –  Macro and Micro Economics

Unit 3 – The Government and the Economy

Unit 4 –  Education, Income and Lifestyle

    Unit 5 – Taxation

    Unit 6 – Money Management

Unit 7 – Credit and Debt

    Unit 8 – Critical Consumerism

WHAT YOU GET: What EACH unit Contains (ALL Units are designed the exact same way)

PowerPoint (typically around 170+ slides each.... more than half of which are pictures... Every bit of information needed is here. The PowerPoint has all the information needed to teach each unit. Combine the PowerPoint with the correlating Packet and Test for maximum effectiveness. Each PowerPoint has links to recorded lessons that can be used in class, sub plans, students that are absent, etc...

Notes (Students do NOT copy off the PowerPoint... they have notes with the same information, but with CONCEPT questions on every slide they have to answer with two full sentences). The Same video links that are in the PowerPoint are also in the notes if they are provided digitally…

30 Vocabulary Words to define (ALL the vocabulary word definitions are in the notes, and all the vocabulary words are underlined.... I even give my kids a grade for going through and highlighting the vocabulary word and definition in the notes.... and a second grade for defining the vocabulary word on the designated page)

CNN10 Viewing Guide (We start class with CNN10 each day as a bell ringer..... students have to write down three topics they talk about and why it's significant... we discuss this as a class afterwards to get class started)

I CAN STATEMENTS (If your school district requires these, they are already done for you. The I CAN statements are formatted directly from the NC Standards but are generic enough to be used in any state)

POSSIBLE ESSAY QUESTIONS (The students will write an essay on their tests, these are a list of the 5 POSSIBLE choices and the rubric they are to study for each.... honestly, for lower classes, I tell them in advance what their essay will be... it's easy to add or lower difficulty here based on the class)

PACKETS (The "I Can Statements", "CNN 10 Viewing Guide", "Vocabulary Words", "Notes", and "Possible Essay Questions" are already organized into a single document for the students)

KAHOOT (every unit has a Kahoot with the first 25 multiple choice questions on the test. The link is provided for each Unit). The link to each Unit's Kahoot is on the last slide of the PowerPoint

QUIZLET (I have a quizlet of every vocab word with it's definition for each Unit. The Link is provided for each Unit. Quizlet Live is an extremely effective study tool) The link to the Quizlet is on the last slide of the PowerPoint and there is a link AND QR code (if you use a paper copy) for the students in the Notes Packet.

VOCABULARY QUIZ (this is the 30 Word vocabulary quiz that goes along with the Unit. It has a word bank that goes along with it with two groups of 15.... the definitions are verbatim what is in the notes, and all the words are used, and they are used only once... and as an added bonus... I figured out how to effectively use a scan-tron to grade vocabulary quizzes which will be self-explanatory when you see it. KEY INCLUDED FOR EACH VOCAB QUIZ

MULTIPLE CHOICE TEST (The multiple choice portion has 50 questions. After the first unit, about 35% of the test questions are from previous tests.... the cumulative test questions drastically improve student's scores at the end of the semester) KEY INCLUDED FOR EACH TEST

COMPLETE TEST (This is my preferred method of testing.... This combines the Essay Question(s), Vocabulary Quiz and Multiple Choice Portion into one document. This is preferred in a Block (or 1.5 hour class) system. If you are on a 7 period day schedule it might be better to break it up for time constraints. KEYS INCLUDED

Test Correction Format/Worksheet (The day after the test, I always do test corrections.... since my tests are cumulative, they need to see the questions they missed... instructions are clear on the form how to do them... I typically give my standard students half credit back and my honors students just get an assignment grade for completion and no change to their test grade)
