Description

Are you teaching students about disabilities? This is an editable no prep 130+ page lesson on the history of disabilities, ableism, physical disabilities, neurodiversity, developmental disabilities, and mental health differences.

This lengthy lesson can be broken up across multiple classes, or as a whole unit! Included is a video on the history of disabilities.

This unit covers many disabilities, including:

  • Intellectual disability
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Autism spectrum
  • Down syndrome
  • ADHD
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Generalized Anxiety

Included are follow-up questions, new vocab review, and 3 differentiated quizzes for students. You can present the lesson remotely or in person, and then test students' knowledge at the end! This activity could be used with elementary school students, middle school, high school or students of varying ages and special education backgrounds.
