As a supply (substitute) teacher in a large school district, I visit many schools in daily or short term positions. I also fill longer term vacancies. I have a degree in music, and am certified to teach music to Intermediate/Senior (gr 7-12). As well, I have the Ontario Primary/Junior Vocal Music AQ to cover grades 1-6 and the Ontario Kindergarten AQ to cover FDK.
I am laid back, go with the flow but have a purpose! I don't believe in frequent written tests as a way to show music literacy. I acknowledge that most of my students might not even take music in high school, so I aim to increase their knowledge of what makes music good, so they can become conscious consumers of music and have a life long appreciation of music and solid musical literacy skills
