Does your reading pedagogy include structured lessons in the Science of Reading?

Here’s how to use this tool:

• There are three pages for the teacher’s mark-up copy. This is where you will write the student’s responses as they read the lists aloud to you. By writing the student’s responses, you will be able to notice patterns in their miscues.  

• There are two pages that allow you to keep a record over time of a student’s performance.  For example, you might progress monitor each trimester and a fourth time just before an IEP meeting.  Or, tutors may provide updates quarterly using this tool.
  

• The student's copy spans three pages. The words are listed using appropriate size and spacing. The words are printed in Arial font.

• This effective tool can be used to assess previous areas of study to ensure mastery/retention, current areas of study to monitor growth, and future areas of study to preview your student’s ability.  Enjoy watching your students grow!
