Description

Focusing specifically on Shakespeare's Macbeth, this classroom resource provides students with an engaging way to explore crime definitions and their application to literature. Write closing arguments for each character, and allow a jury to give their verdict!

Students analyze the characters within the play and determine which crimes they have committed based on legal definitions. This activity encourages critical thinking and analysis while also deepening students' understanding of the themes and motifs within the play as well as the wider world and society.

Each of the criminal charge cards features a term commonly used in criminal law, along with a brief and easy-to-understand definition. With this set, students can quickly and easily familiarize themselves with a wide range of crimes, from Assault to Voluntary Manslaughter.

Includes:

  • 32 PDF pages - graphic organizers, closing argument and verdict sheets for Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, the Porter, all three Witches, Hecate and the Assassins.
