Overview:

This is a custom-made, ready-to-use PDF and/or Easel digital packet for students in grades 4-7 who are reading the novel, Crenshaw, written by Katherine Applegate. To have a digital product that can be assigned and completed digitally, download this as an Easel product. This packet of materials includes 23 student pages, an answer key, a list of vocabulary words found in the reading, and a chart showing CCSS standards that are supported. The student pages divide the text into 5 reading assignments and the activities encourage close reading, Students are guided in their reading with comprehension questions, mini lessons, and important practice in both reading and writing skills.

Skills that are addressed in the student pages include the following:

CRENSHAW in a Nutshell:

Ten-year-old Jackson worries that, once again, his family cannot afford the rent and will soon be hungry and without a home. But fortunately for Jackson, his old imaginary friend, Crenshaw, seems to be back! Students will enjoy Crenshaw's antics and will be rooting for the friendship that he offers to help Jackson in his time of need.

This book is written by the Newbery Medal-Winning author, Katherine Applegate, who is widely known not only for The One and Only Ivan and The One and Only Bob, but also for her Animorph books.
