This end of novel review challenge for Crash by Jerry Spinelli is a fun jeopardy-style game to check student comprehension and engage students in some end of novel unit fun!
If you are looking to see how much detail they have retained in a fun, mildly competitive way, this is the perfect tool for your students.
All students are familiar with Jeopardy, and this challenge works in that exact same fashion. Students can select a category and a point value. They are then given a question that they must answer based on the novel.
Treat this as a competition or however you see fit within your classroom.
Categories in the game:
• Cast of Characters: Who is who?
• All Around Town: Setting
• Who Said It? Identifying quotes by the various characters
• Guess the Location-an event is shared, students have to remember where it took place.
• In the Text or Not: Given an event, students have to decide if it took place in the novel or not.
This PDF works best when used in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Using this resource in an internet browser like Chrome may cause issues with links going to the answers instead of the questions.
Your students will love this interactive challenge that can be played on one computer with two students competing against one another or on a SMART/MIMIO board with your whole class. Ideas for classroom use included for seamless implementation.
