Description

Students test and present simple, low-cost methods for purifying water in this summative assessment and/or service learning project recommended for grade 6 Chemistry students learning about Chemical and Physical Changes. This is a project-based learning (PBL) activity that can be done individually or in small groups. Students are required to use research and experimentation to create a demonstration, video, presentation, product, or method that could be used to provide clean drinking water to developing communities around the world. Requires approximately 3 weeks of class time. Includes project task sheet and MYP criterion A/B/C/D rubrics.
