Description

Review first grade math skills AND help Santa find his reindeer and return them to training camp with this fun Holiday Game. This game is NO PREP! All you have to do is project the Google Slides and students will write their answers on a white board or piece of paper.

The game begins with the task of helping Santa. Santa’s reindeer have escaped from Reindeer Training Camp and students must solve 12 math tasks to find the reindeer and return them to camp. Each time a task is solved, a reindeer is returned to camp.

Understand that in adding two-digit numbers, one adds tens and tens, ones and ones; and sometimes it is necessary to compose a ten.
Given a two-digit number, mentally find 10 more or 10 less than the number, without having to count; explain the reasoning used.
Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
