Description
Are you interested in adding French culture elements to your Primary French Immersion class? This resource is packed with worksheets that accompany Minitfo's "Les chansons traditionelles", easily found on Idéllo or Youtube. There are 10 sets for 10 songs!
Teach French using songs that are ingrained in the French Canadian culture! My students love these songs and I will often "catch" them singing them quietly throughout the week. Students will learn a vast amount of vocabulary that is commonly used in the language.
Les 10 chansons traditionelles :
1) Un éléphant qui se balançait
2) Pirouette cacahouette
3) La ferme de Mathurin
4) Fais dodo, Colas mon p’tit frère
5) J’aime papa, j’aime maman
6) Promenons-nous dans les bois

Here’s how I use this resource in my classroom:
On monday, we watch the video for the first time on mute.
We discuss what we see in the video.
We then listen to it with sound and write down all of the words that we know.
We listen to the song every day. By mid week,
the resources in this pack are introduced.
If we are working in centers, they are part of my
centers rotation. Other times, they are simply done as an
independent work activity.
Each song is accompanied with 4-5 worksheets, including a cute wordsearch with relevant vocabulary. Lyrics are also included plus a "mots clés" sheet.
