Description
Students enjoy this video attached to a writing prompt and coloring page on the story of Carry Nation and the Temperance Movement, the late 19th century American reformer whose extreme tactics to end drinking in America made her a cult hero. This video is appropriate at the 8th grade level because of the Reform Movement unit, specifically temperance. It may work in other grade levels/subjects as well. The lyrics are provided along with a coloring page that provides space to summarize a scene. It is short (2:23) and could work as an introduction to a lesson, a station in a rotation or as homework. It is available 24/7 on my YouTube channel (Keith Piirto) or just click the picture. I hope it is helpful to you and your students this year.
