- Motor skills

What is included:

1- Interactive "Flow & Freeze" with draggable GIFS to arrange in beats

2- "Move and Freeze" Slides with GIFS / no draggable option

3- "Move and Freeze" Video / Use with any music / duration- 4:53

How to use de interactive version:

1- Drag and drop the movements and the freeze sign, and decide on an order.

2- Students take 8 beats to flow and dance to the movement in turn.

3- Freeze in that pose for 8 beats.

4- Flow to the next movement and repeat the process until the end of the song.

Variations:

1- Change the number of beats.

2- Have the class try it in canon.

3- Half of the class move from last  to the first square, and half of the class move from first to the last square.

4- Mirroring/ Students face a partner. One partner is the leader, and the other partner mirrors their movements as closely as they can.

Notes/ Suggestions:

1- Please, Do not stop the recording, so the students can appreciate the music and get a true impression of the complete emotional journey. Also, students will count the number of beats they should be frozen while listening to the music.

2- Do not eliminate students, keep everyone involved. (The more students eliminated, the more classroom management red flags will be raising)

3- Remind students that is ok to make mistakes. Encourage them to continue moving and take risks.

4- When using with upper elementary grades, reinforcing and practicing meter, counting grouping beats in measures.

Can't resist some pure fun?

- FREEZE DANCE SLIDES and video, because sometimes you just need a brain break movement activity, filler or transition game, or maybe just want your students to have a few minutes of fun and shake their sillies off.
