    - Listen, feel and move to music

Variation: Use classroom percussion instruments to play the rhythms instead of moving

    Materials:

    - Recording of your choice (music should have a steady pulse) NOT INCLUDED

    - Digital "Rhythm Splash & Freeze" resource / ready to use using Genially web

    - You will download an Interactive PDF that maintain links and go to page / No internet needed and an interactive digital version that uses the Genially platform.

    How to use:

-Students read and stomp and/or walk (splash) to the rhythm shown

-They will freeze when the slide shows quarter rests.

This activity is a low pressure way to build independence in rhythm reading and is bundled together with movement break.

2- "Flow and Freeze" movement activities will reinforce:

    - Steady beat

    - Motor skills

    - Counting beats by groups

    - Listen, feel and move to music

    How to use:

1- Drag and drop the movements and the freeze sign, and decide on an order.

2- Students take 8 beats to flow and dance to the movement in turn.

3- Freeze in that pose for 8 beats.

4- Flow to the next movement and repeat the process until the end of the song.

    Variations:

1- Change the number of beats.

2- Have the class try it in canon.

3- Half of the class move from last  to the first square, and half of the class move from first to the last square.

4- Mirroring/ Students face a partner. One partner is the leader, and the other partner mirrors their movements as closely as they can.

3- Included in the scarves and ribbons download:

    - Interactive PDF / 31 movements-visuals

    - Video without sound to use with any music / 31 movements-visuals (I created this option so I could move around the classroom while my students are using the props, that way I don't need to stay close to my computer to pass the slides. Each card is visible for 8-10 seconds. The total duration of the video is 5 minutes)
