What educators are saying

This is a wonderful resource for my Resource Room students. It helps them to learn how to research without being too overwhelming for them to complete the assignment.

Description

Teach your students how to write informational writing pieces by having them write biographies! Students will learn about an assigned influential person while also practicing informational writing!

Students will choose a person's name out of a hat, note take while researching the person, use their notes to plan for writing and complete a rough draft, then write their final copies to share with the class! When students are finished, have them present their writing to the class and learn from each other!

Biographies make for a great bulletin board for Black History Month or Women's History Month!

Resource includes:

-Influential figure name cards (one page for Black History Month and one page for Women's History Month)

-Graphic organizer webs for note taking (two levels)

-Planning pages (two levels)

-Four square rough draft sheets (one page for beginning level and four pages for advanced)

-Cover page for final copies

-Primary lined final copy pages (option of full page lined or half page lined with picture box)

-Upper elementary lined final copy pages (option of full page lined or half page lined with picture box)
