Beowulf - Before and After Interactive Activities

I have found that students are much more engaged in learning when they are handed the wheel of the ship of their learning. This can be daunting for a teacher if they are unsure of how to help students become independent learners. On the other hand, it can be an exciting and a productive learning experience if a student is given guidance on how to navigate through their learning. Students gain confidence as they are guided through their exploration. This is what these products do. They guide students on where to go, what to look for and how to discover the information they need to appreciate Beowulf. I have included the activities I do with students BEFORE we read Beowulf and AFTER we finish reading. The activities begin with the teacher's full involvement and gradually move to students learning independently. All presentations, guided student sheets, keys (where relevant), sites and links that are used in the exploration are included. I hope your students love these activities as much as mine do.
