The collection is divided into seven sections, each containing six stories by famous auto writers and journalists, including, amongst others, Denis Jenkinson, Ken Purdy, Denise McCluggage, Bob Ottum, and the ever-hilarious P. J. O’Rourke. The seven sections are entitled “Sound and Fury,” “Driving Like Crazy,” “The Machines,” “In Motion,” “The Open Road,” “Man Versus Machine,” and “American Car Culture and History.” Also included is a sign-up sheet for students to choose which section they want to read of the seven. (Or you can have them read all seven sections.) Study guides for each section and answer keys are included. This unit was designed for an Automotive Technology course for a Career and Technical Education program but can be used in any regular class.
