Description

This Animal and Community themed performance for elementary students is easy to perform and coordinate. The script can be read like a readers theater by 5 narrators. The lion king has a few speaking parts that can be easily memorized. Each animal group/class has two short poems they will memorize and recite chorally and one dance to choreograph and perform.

In this show the lion king becomes sad because he thinks he has to be a strong leader all by himself. So his many animal subjects come together to cheer him and return a smile to his face. With poetry and dance they show him he is not alone and that when they come together they create a community!

This performance package can be used by an elementary classroom teacher, a music teacher, a summer camp coordinator, or a drama program instructor.

This play has been performed by a single class of 24 students and it has also been performed many times by large groups of well over 200 students and up to 13 collaborating teachers!

This script is editable! Customize this script to suit the exact number of classes participating! Customize this script based on the teacher’s animal preferences!!! Excited and inspired teachers equals excited and inspired students!!
