Description

Are you looking age respectful books for your older students with developmental disabilities?

This adapted book is perfect for teens and adult with developmental disabilities that are learning about money. Although many people use debit and credit cards for payment, learning the concept of dollars and coins is very important for many math concepts. Also there are stores and/or restaurants that are cash only. Once an individual learns money, they can understand the balance of a debit card which builds a good foundations for money concepts.

The book contains penny, nickel, dime, quarter, 1 dollar bill, 5 dollar bill, 10 dollar bill, 20 dollar bill, ATM and wallet. I didn't include bills that were less common such as 50 and 100 dollar bills.

This adapted book is excellent for interactive activities that can help your student build vocabulary, answer wh questions, communicate via their AAC device and/or verbal speech and learn emerging skills in literacy.

The corresponding PCS symbols and photographs can help students communicate when learning about different types of money. At the end of the book, discuss bills and coins, watch the video on my youtube channel and also use in the moment when you are out in the community shopping. This book can be a great carryover activity for students to work on at home.

Included in this adapted book is the following:
1. 12 pages (including cover and back page)
2. 10 interior pages with one target word per page.
3. 10 PCS symbols that should be laminated and velcroed into the book.

Easy to assemble!
1. Print all pages in landscape.
2. Laminate all pages.
3. Cut off parts of paper that say "cut off"
4. Organize your book. Feel free to order the pages as you like.
5. Laminate and velcro the symbols. Add velcro to the book.
6. Bind the book. I have a binder or bring into an office supply store for binding.
