Description
Dialectical Journal entries are designed for students to interact with a text in a number of ways including: questioning the text, identifying literary elements, reflecting on the purpose or meaning, and connecting to their world.
This is a guide that will walk students through how to complete an entry for a dialectical journal. It takes them through the purpose, provides hints and tips for finding good quotes, and includes examples from both fiction and non-fiction pieces.
At the end is a grading rubric based on a 4-point scale. The table is set up for you to edit and/or add grade values to based on your classroom scale.
