I used this to help explain cost vs benefits for the environmental issues portion of 6th grade science. Students will research the cost of a hybrid car and it's gasoline model using the Internet. They will then calculate the cost of gas for each car over a 5 year period of time. The students will then see if the cost of a hybrid car is worth the larger sticker price.
