Colonial Times is a Visual Art unit of work for stage 2 (Year 3/4) students, although could be used in Stage 3.
Students investigate ways in which artists during colonial times represented the world around them. Artworks from the realism art period (1848-1900), a time when art celebrated the working class and peasants and had a rustic style to it, will be used to encapsulate the Australian colonial environment.
