Building off of Unit 1, Unit 2 continues to follow the new AP curriculum guidelines as it builds upon the rhetorical situation. What child does not love to learn about dinosaur songs? For example, "Well, let me tell you a story about ole' T-Rex. Great big legs, but itty bitty pecs!" I have written a collection of songs (piggyback style) that incorporate factual information about the dinosaur featured in the lyrics. This song is a great way to introduce writer's workshop to young students. The lyrics are short and exact to help beginning writer's understand the basic concept of writer's workshop and to begin writing immediately.
