This SMARTboard presentation covers many musical elements with one folk song about apples! First, students sight read a folk song using the pitches la, so, and mi and then uncover boxes to read the song text. On the second slide students can manipulate the different types of apples to form various rhythm word chains for a B section. The third and fourth slides assess students' ability to read traditional rhythm notation. The final slide is an improvisation activity older students will enjoy.
