This is a unit overview for a Lichen storyline that carries students through the CED, Unit 1 for AP Environmental Science. This storyline begins with a phenomenon where students observe and question lichen- a common organism that can be found in any environment, and design an experiment around that organism. The storyline can be completed in 11-12 class periods and covers almost all of the standards in Unit 1 of the AP environment CED. This unit is closely aligned to NGSS standards.
